Admission

Who can apply?

Students who hold the equivalent of a master´s degree in Medicine, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Genetics or related areas are invited to apply for admission. The primary criteria for eligibility is that the degree should permit the student to begin a PhD program in the country where the degree was obtained.

Admission criteria

The PhD Program Molecular Medicine at the Medical University of Graz is aimed to provide excellent scientific education at an international level for highly talented and motivated students. The selection criteria are as follows: English proficiency, documented scientific interest, research experience and excellent recommendations.

Selection procedure

Candidates may apply for a PhD project when a call for PhD students has been launched by the Medical University of Graz (typically between January and March). In the first step, written applications are ranked by the faculty of the PhD program according to the admission criteria detailed above. In the second step, high-ranking candidates are invited for a personal hearing. Travel costs can be reimbursed by the PhD Program.
