Due to the COVID-19 situation in Austria the second scientific retreat, which was planned from September 21-23, 2020 was cancelled. Instead of one retreat for all SFB project parts, subgroup meetings were organized on demand. For instance PP02, PP03 and PP05 met in Graz on September 22.
Ruth Birner-Grünberger, PI of PP09 of the SFB LIPID HYDROLYSIS, started to build up her lab at Technical University of Vienna as she got a position as full professor for Bioanalytics.
The SFB LIPID HYDROLYSIS is part of the TEC Xperience Exhibtion at the Alpach Technology Symposium from August 22-24, 2019.
The Special Research Program (SFB) "Lipid Hydrolysis" unites excellent research groups with expertise in lipid and energy metabolism, cell biology, genomics and proteomics, pathology, and internal medicine to better understand how intracellular lipid hydrolases affect lipid degradation pathways. PhD students in the SFB work and study either at the MUG or the UG due to the affiliation of the respective research group.
Application deadline: September 15, 2019
Prof. Rudolf Zechner, deputy speaker of the SFB LIPID HYDROLYSIS, was elected as foreign associate of the National Academy of Sciences.
The special research program (SFB) LIPID HYDROLYSIS is the fourth in row with an emphasis on lipid metabolism.
