Assessment of the dissertation

The following documents/steps are required in order to begin the assessment and approbation of your scientific work:

  • Electronic entry in MEDonline (access via the business card), in PDF/A format (Information Sheet - Creating a Thesis in PDF/A Format)
  • Preparing a dissertation

  • After confirmation of the uploaded work by your supervisor in MEDonline please send the signed Consent for publication and the signed form “Assessment of the Completed Dissertation” via STUDMAIL to dissertation(at) Please attach your publication/s (pdf-file) referring to your dissertation or at least the acceptance of paper (original mail) with the accepted manuscript (pdf-file).
  • Restriction of Use: This application must be submitted direct to the Studies Rector/Vice Studies Rector. The application form is available here

  • Further Information: A bound copy of your academic work is not required for assessment and approbation. The Dean of study affairs, Prof. Petek recommends having a bound version of your work made for private use only after the assessment and approbation has been completed. You can also begin planning your comprehensive oral examination before a committee when you submit your dissertation to the Examination Department. However, please also be aware that the approbation of your dissertation can take up to two month. We therefore ask you to schedule your final oral examination accordingly.
