The Wallingford Lab in the Mother Infant Research Institute at Tufts Medical Center in Boston is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to pursue mechanisms of placental vascular development and pathophysiology as a member of NIH and AHA funded studies. Prior research experience in the areas of vascular development, vascular disease, placenta biology, and/or mammalian development is preferred. Extensive experience with molecular biology, histology, literature review, scientific writing, experimental design, independent and team research, and thorough laboratory record keeping is required. The applicant will have access to resources within the Mother Infant Research Institute, the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute, and the Department of Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology on the Tufts Health Sciences campus in Boston. The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is recruiting an experienced Project Scientist. We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with rigorous training in development, genetics, molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics, who is interested in an academic career focused on advancing research and education in the field of developmental biology. The ideal Project Scientist will be able to direct their own independent research project with oversight and input from the principal investigator. The Child and Reproductive Health group is seeking two biomedical or biological science graduates to undertake PhD projects. This PhD offers the opportunity to work with an internationally recognised team under the supervision of Professor Murray Mitchell. The projects will involve (i) the measurements of lipids, nucleic acids and proteins/cytokines within exosomes isolated from bovine biological fluids (e.g. milk/plasma) (ii) evaluations of exosomal effects on cell responsiveness and cellular pathways. A postdoctoral fellow/Senior Scientist position is available in the Perinatal Research Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wayne State University School of Medicine, to study placental development, immunology of the maternal-fetal interface, and the vascular complications associated with various pregnancy disorders. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree. Research experience in areas of tissue-specific gene targeting, transgenic design, immunology, developmental biology, and placental development is desired. Applicants for the Senior Scientist position should have at least five years of postdoctoral training experience and excellent manuscript/grant/scientific writing skills.
