*If PhD candidates have not completed a corresponding course in their preceding study program, a course on the basics of biostatistics with a scope of 2 semester hours shall be completed as part of the PhD degree program.

Public Presentations(e.g. Doctoral Day)

During the course of the program, three public presentations shall be prepared and presented for example at the Doctoral Day of the MUG or at a national or international conferences.

2. Reports

  • Dissertation Agreement (1st semester)
  • Presentation of the Dissertation Topic and the Working Plan (1st semester)
  • 1st and 2nd Progress Report (3rd and 5th semester)

3. Publication

At least one publication has to be accepted in an internationally approved „peer-reviewed“ journal (SCI listed) with the student as first author.

The citation impact („impact factor“) of the respective journal has to be 3.0 or higher at the time of either print or acceptance of the publication.

If the citation impact of the (shared) first author publication is lower than 3.0 (e.g. 2.5) exception can be given upon request by the Curricular Committee by upvaluation with at least one more publication of the student in a SCI listed journal as author or co-author.

In any case, the PhD program MolMed must be mentioned in the acknowledgements.
