Univ.-Prof. Heinz Sill

Heinz SILL is a clinical haematologist whose research aim is to understand mechanisms of myeloid leukemogenesis, identify critical molecular aberrations as targets for novel leukemia therapies and translate these data into patient benefit. His group has established a large collection of primary leukemia specimens and uses state-of-the-art leukemic cell culture and mouse models. Currently he investigates dysfunctional base-excision repair in acute myeloid leukemia and the functional relevance of TP53 germline mutations for therapy-related myeloid leukemogenesis.
