As a result of the demographic development of an aging population, the focus of international research is more and more on these diseases. The Division of Neurogeriatrics is part of international research networks whose goal is to better understand the causes of neurodegenerative diseases.

Research efforts should ultimately provide new insight into pathomechanisms, improve diagnostics and develop disease-modifying therapies.
