Florian Pokorny graduated from the Graz University of Technology in the interdisciplinary bachelor's and master's program Electrical Engineering and Audio Engineering. In 2014, he became university assistant at the Research Unit iDN – interdisciplinary Developmental Neuroscience, Medical University of Graz, Austria. His research interests comprise the fields of acoustics, (speech) signal processing, machine learning, phonetics and eye tracking. Currently, he is investigating acoustic peculiarities in early vocalisations in (neuro)developmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder, Rett syndrome, and fragile X syndrome. Furthermore, he is working on an interdisciplinary dissertation in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich.
