Tenure Track Professor in Cancer Immunology

We are looking for an excellent researcher with a high potential for developing an internationally recognized research agenda in the field of Cancer Immunology. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research and teaching in the field of Pharmacology with a special focus on Cancer Immunology. The new position will complement the research activities of the Division of Pharmacology in the Otto Loewi Research Center and lead the further advancement of Cancer Research activities with regard to Cancer Immunology. The initial appointment is limited to six years. After the conclusion of a qualification agreement (assistant professor) the career advancement goal is to transfer to a tenured position as an associate professor (tenure track professor pursuant to § 99 para. 5 and 6 of the Universities Act). If the candidate demonstrates outstanding and remarkable achievements, the qualification agreement may be fulfilled as quickly as possible.

Ihre Aufgaben in dieser Position beinhalten:

  • Conducting cutting-edge research on basic mechanisms in the field of cancer immunology with the potential for translation
  • Acquiring competitive third-party funding and taking the lead in such research projects
  • Developing an internationally renowned multidisciplinary team
  • Teaching in curricula, supervising doctoral students, mentoring and promoting young researchers
  • Giving lectures and seminars at international meetings and organizing conferences in the field
  • Establishing and maintaining networks through local, national, and international collaborations

Für diese Position bringen Sie folgende Qualifikationen und Kenntnisse mit:

  • Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in life sciences with significant experience in pharmacology and cancer immunology
  • Excellent scientific track record with an emphasis on publications in the field of cancer immunology as well as competitive research grants and third-party funding
  • Proven ability to develop, initiate and carry out interdisciplinary projects in cancer immunology
  • Experience in teaching and/or (co)supervising doctoral students and/or training post-doctoral fellows (depending on the applicant’s career stage)
  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English (proficiency level C1)
