The PhD and Doctoral programs aim to equip students with the skills for conducting independent research and promote future generations of research scientists in the fields of medical and life sciences.
PhD/Doctoral training, as the third cycle in the Bologna process, integrates education and productive research activity. Students are regarded as Early Stage Researchers at the beginning of their careers.
The Medical University of Graz offers the opportunity for state-of-the art PhD studies in five doctoral programs. They provide education in basic principles of human diseases and therapeutics. The doctoral colleges are funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
