The PhD Study serves to train skills, contribute to the development of medical science through independet research, and in this way strives to promote future generations of research scientists in the area of medical and natural sciences.
The programs provide cutting-edge education in basic principles of human diseases and therapeutics. Research topics are based on various aspects of cardiac and vascular diseases, inflammation, cancer, stem cells, ageing of the brain and neurodegeneration. The education combines a stimulating learning and research environment integrating basic, applied and clinical sciences as well as a wide spectrum of state-of-the-art techniques.
