The Medical University of Graz will use your donation in accordance with the principles of appropriateness, legality and transparency to fulfil the purpose you have specified. If, at the time your donation is received, there is no corresponding research project for the research area you have specified, or if the project is already fully funded, we reserve the right to use the donation for study and teaching at the Medical University of Graz. Austrian law applies; the competent court in Graz shall have jurisdiction over any legal disputes.

Tax-deductible donations are forwarded directly by the recipient charity to the tax office, where they are automatically included in the tax assessment for the relevant year.

As a beneficiary organisation under Section 4a(3)(1) of the Income Tax Act, your donations to the Medical University of Graz are also tax-deductible.

To enable automatic reporting to the tax office, please provide your first name, surname and date of birth when making your donation. When providing your name, it is important that the spelling matches that on your registration certificate.

The amounts that are tax-deductible are subject to statutory limits.

For private individuals: Donations of up to 10 per cent of your total income for the relevant year are deductible as special expenses.

For businesses: Donations of up to 10 per cent of the total profit (before taking the profit allowance into account) are deductible as business expenses.

The Medical University of Graz is responsible for the processing of your personal data and takes technical and organisational measures to protect it appropriately.

The Medical University of Graz processes the personal data you provide exclusively for the following purposes: processing your donation, fulfilling tax-related obligations, maintaining contact (e.g. personalised, event-related communications, information on follow-up projects, invitations to events, updates on completed projects), internal reporting, quality management and performance monitoring.

The processing of your personal data is carried out on the basis of the applicable legal provisions and your consent (Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f) of the EU GDPR).

Your data will be made available exclusively to the staff members at the Medical University of Graz who are responsible for processing it. Your data will only be disclosed to third parties to the extent necessary to fulfil legal obligations.

We store your personal data for the duration of the statutory retention periods.

You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to data processing, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that complaints or claims relating to data protection may be lodged with the Data Protection Authority of the Republic of Austria.
