Our primary research focus is the biology of aging and its role in driving cardiometabolic disease. The laboratory is dedicated to uncovering the molecular and cellular mechanisms of aging in the circulatory system and leveraging these insights to develop targeted anti-aging therapeutics. Our work has been instrumental in defining the hallmarks of cardiovascular aging and identifying actionable pathways for intervention. Furthermore, many of our discoveries have led to patent-protected therapeutics, some of which are currently being evaluated in ongoing randomized clinical trials. Our ultimate goal is to translate these innovations into clinical practice to prevent or treat age-related cardiometabolic disorders and extend human healthy lifespan.
