In this exciting, timely workshop, Prof. Oertelt-Prigione will break down the many layers of sex and gender and their impact on biomedical research: from disaggregating drug trial results between men and women to the influence of researchers’ sex/gender on experimental outcomes. She will guide researchers through the important questions to ask when setting up biomedical research: What do you have to consider, how to start, what should be measured during the experiments and what should be reported in the resulting publication? With several concrete examples from a variety of fields, this webinar should serve as an illuminating while practical source of information for all researchers working with humans and animals. Sabine Oertelt-Prigione is a physician specialized in internal medicine, sex- and gender-sensitive medicine and public health with a professional focus on the development of user-centered innovative prevention methods for socially relevant issues (from gender inequality in health to refugee health to prevention of interpersonal violence and sexual harassment). She was a member of the European Commission Expert Group on “Gendered Innovations” and currently chairs the Expert Group on “Gender and COVID-19”.
