Attractions & Tourism

Graz is quite an attraction! The medieval historic center makes up the core of the UNESCO World Heritage site. From the main square, sleepy narrow alleyways between Renaissance and Baroque buildings lead to restaurants, cafés, shops and markets that invite you linger over a drink or a meal. The centuries old Clock Tower, the symbol of the city, stands watch over the splendid colors of the rooftops of Graz from its vantage point 123 meters above on the Schloßberg. From here you can see the Mur River, the futuristic Kunsthaus and several architectural highlights of the City of Design.

Transportation

Austria's second largest city can be discovered quickly and cheaply in an environmentally friendly manner. It is best to explore the city center on foot or use the dense network of bike paths. The entire city is very well connected by public transportation. Flexible and comfortable transfers are possible with the "Öffis": six tram lines, 24 bus lines and eight night bus lines. Thanks to the "Altstadtbim" campaign in the Old Town (between the stops Jakominiplatz and Hauptplatz plus one station in all directions), you may ride the tram within this area for free.
