Entrepreneurship - A Personal Perspective

Abstract: Starting a company is both exciting and scary at the same time. This talk will take you on a journey through technology, innovation, business, finance, regulation, psychology to game theory, and social considerations, covering two decades of experience as a CEO of a small technology company at the periphery of the accelerating changes of the past 20 years. Bio: Oskar Mencer, MAE, grew up in Vienna, got a first degree at the Technion, followed by a PhD at Stanford in 2000, right before the technology crash of the same year, founded Maxeler Technologies in 2003 out of Bell Labs in New Jersey, and over the past two decades, delivered custom computing solutions for particular unconventional challenges to Chevron and ENI, JP Morgan, the US government, the Human Brain project in Europe, and technology companies in Silicon Valley. Oskar is also Treasurer at Academia Europaea, and technical advisor to several VCs.
