Das SIAN Meeting (13.-18. März 2023) an der Stellenbosch University bot dem International Office der Med Uni Graz eine hervorragende Möglichkeit, die bestehende Kooperation mit dieser renommierten Institution zu vertiefen und aktuelle Herausforderungen und Ziele der internationalen Hochschulmobilität mit Teilnehmer*innen aus aller Welt zu diskutieren.
Im Rahmen des SIAN Meetings wurden aber auch 30 Jahre erfolgreicher Internationalisierung der Stellenbosch University gefeiert. Im Namen der Medizinischen Universität Graz gratulieren wir nochmals zu diesem Jubiläum und bedanken uns insbesondere bei Robert Kotzé, Senior Director, und dem gesamten Team von SU International für die außerordentliche Gastfreundschaft!
Die Med Uni Graz und die Stellenbosch University verbindet bisher eine Kooperation im Rahmen der Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility über ein Projekt von Nandu Goswami, Lehrstuhl für Physiologie und Pathophysiologie, Med Uni Graz, und Hans Strijdom von der Division of Physiology, Stellenbosch University.
Der Besuch und die Besichtigung des Tygerberg Campus mit dem neuen Biomedical Research Institute, ein Vortrag von Tulio de Oliveira, der 2021 das Team leitete, das die Beta- und Omikron-Variante des COVID-19 Virus entdeckte, und der direkte Austausch mit dem International Office der medizinischen Fakultät waren weitere Höhepunkte dieses außergewöhnlichen Aufenthalts.
Die nächsten gemeinsamen Aktivitäten sind die Teilnahme von Nyambura Mwagiru, Leiterin des International Office am Tygerberg Campus, und Lauren Abrahams, Division of Physiology, an der Staff Week der Med Uni Graz von 8. - 12. Mai 2023. Nutzen Sie im Rahmen der Poster Presentation am Dienstag, 9. Mai, ab 15:30 die Gelegenheit, sich mit diesen und weiteren Teilnehmer*innen über deren Institutionen und Kooperationsmöglichkeiten auszutauschen (bei Schönwetter im Freibereich vor der Mensa, bei Schlechtwetter vor der Aula – Details rechtzeitig in MUniverse).

The SIAN Meeting (March 13-18, 2023) at Stellenbosch University offered the International Office of Med Uni Graz an excellent opportunity to deepen the existing cooperation with this renowned institution and to discuss current challenges and goals of international university mobility with participants from all over the world.
The SIAN meeting also celebrated 30 years of successful internationalization at Stellenbosch University. On behalf of the Medical University of Graz, we congratulate again on this anniversary and want to thank Robert Kotzé, Senior Director, and the whole team of SU International for the extraordinary hospitality!
Med Uni Graz and Stellenbosch University have so far been linked by a cooperation within the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility via a project of Nandu Goswami, Chair of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Med Uni Graz, and Hans Strijdom from the Division of Physiology, Stellenbosch University .
The visit and tour of the Tygerberg Campus with the new Biomedical Research Institute, a lecture by Tulio de Oliveira, who led the team that discovered the beta and omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus in 2021, and direct interaction with the International Office of the Faculty of Medicine were other highlights of this exceptional stay.
The next joint activities are the participation of Nyambura Mwagiru, Head of the International Office at Tygerberg Campus, and Lauren Abrahams, Division of Physiology, at the Staff Week of Med Uni Graz from May 8 - 12, 2023. Take the opportunity of the Poster Presentation on Tuesday, May 9.
