New cooperation partner: The University of Western Australia

A new cooperation agreement in the English-speaking world expands the portfolio for student exchange and forms the basis for research cooperation.

The bilateral cooperation agreement signed at the end of November with the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, Australia, adds an excellent university to the portfolio of partner institutions in English-speaking countries. The agreement is the basis for a quality-assured exchange of students for clinical placements and CPY components, as well as potential collaboration in the field of research.

Founded in 1913 and based in Perth, the University of Western Australia now has more than 25,000 students, including international students from more than 100 countries, and is a member of the Group of Eight (Go8), an association of Australia's leading research-intensive universities. The Medical School is the oldest in Western Australia and is renowned for its outstanding clinical teaching.

Med Uni Graz is delighted to welcome the first UWA student for a clinical traineeship at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology this December.

Hands-on placements "Down Under" at UWA for Med Uni Graz students are advertised as part of the "Clinical Rotations and Research Abroad Program" and funded by Med Uni Graz. Four to eight weeks of clinical rotations in the 5th year or CPY placements in the teaching hospitals of UWA, such as the Royal Perth Hospital, the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, the Fiona Stanley Hospital or the Perth Children's Hospital, are possible.

Medical University of Graz is looking forward to working with the new partner university!
