The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is looking for a

Biomedizinische*r Analytiker*in (BMA)

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Performing biomedical analytical investigations within the framework of scientific research projects
  • Sample processing (e.g., blood, tissue, cell cultures) as well as execution and documentation of laboratory analyses
  • Application and further development of cell biological, molecular biological, and immunological methods
  • Contributing to the establishment and optimization of laboratory processes and methodologies
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day laboratory operations as part of the BMA team
  • Supporting study procedures (e.g., sample logistics, data collection, coordination with clinical partners and research nurses)
  • Close collaboration with interdisciplinary project teams


Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Completed training as a Biomedical Analyst (BMA)
  • Enrollment in the Health Professions Registry
  • Solid knowledge in biomedical laboratory diagnostics and/or experimental research
  • Experience with common laboratory methods (e.g., PCR, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, cell culture)
  • Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken, German language skills desirable


The ideal candidate has the following profile:

  • Präzise, verlässliche und eigenverantwortliche Arbeitsweise
  • Experience in scientific studies or clinical research projects
  • Experience with methodologies in vascular biology
  • Experience in microscopic imaging (e.g., confocal microscopy, light-sheet microscopy
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute to the development of new workflows in a dynamic research environment

Classification in employment group IIIb according to the collective agreement for university employees.
