Studienbeitrag
Tuition fee
  • Regular students from Austria, EU/EEA countries and Switzerland, as well as third-country nationals who are equivalent to EU/EEA nationals, are exempt from the tuition fee, if they do not exceed the planned duration of study of a Bachelor's degree programme, Master's programme, doctoral programme or a study section of a diploma degree programme by more than two semesters. If the contribution-fee period is exceeded, a tuition fee of € 363,36 must be paid. Under certain conditions, a waiver or refund  of the tuition fee can be requested.

  • Regular students from third countries are generally requiered to pay a tuition fee of € 726,72 per semester. This does not apply to students who are nationals of a country or territory listed in the annex (StubeiV idgF). These students are generally exempt from paying a tuition fee for the entire duration of their studies.
Students who have a residence permit other than the residence permit for students or who fulfill the requirements according to the Person Group Ordinance can apply for equalisation for the tuition fee - the same tuition fee regulations apply to third-country nationals with equal status to students from Austria, EU/EEA countries and Switzerland.

  • Non-degree students who are admitted to attend individual courses or to study for equivalence (nostrification) must pay a tuition fee of € 363,36  per semester regardless of their nationality and residence permit. Non-degree students who are only taking part in a university course or attending the preliminary study programme are exempt from paying a tuition fee.

ÖH (Austrian National Union of Students) fee
The ÖH fee must be paid each semester by all regular and non-degree students. The ÖH fee is collected together with the tuition fee (if a tuition fee is prescribed) but must also be paid by students who are exempt from the tuition fee.

The ÖH fee for the academic year 2025/26 is € 25,20 per semester.
